We went sledding at Murray park one day during my sabbatical, it set me back some on the pneumonia. But, we did have fun.

Gingerbread Contest

Thing one and thing two (Maddie and Sage Burton) came over to decorate Graham Cracker houses. I participated by eating the black jelly beans and the green gumdrops.

Jensen won best recreation of a Gothic Cathedral, complete with flying buttocks and stained glass windows.

Maddie based her creation on the Jeffs family compound in Colorado City.

Sage wins the award for the best use of gumdrops on the roof.

I was grateful Lane included a carport/tool shed for the riding lawnmower and the snowmobile.

Christmas Bathroom Project

I was given a six week sabbatical in December and January from work. It was a good chance to get some things done. However, I fell deathly ill with pneumonia the very first night and so my activities were limited. We did get our bathroom sink and tub and shower area tiled. I had lots of help from Becca with the cutting. Contrary to the previous tile jobs I have done, I did all the cuts on one day and then laid the tile the next day after returning the tile saw. We think it turned out pretty well. The "tiles" are 24 inch stone squares.

Atheism at Christmastime

Most atheists like to think that they are intelligent and astute. One of the first things you learn in Philosophy is that you cannot prove a negative. So, how can they say with assurance that there is no God?
